RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 Notification - Overview

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the short notification for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 (CEN 01/2026). This massive recruitment drive aims to fill 11,127 vacancies for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) across various railway zones in India. Eligible candidates looking for a career in the Indian Railways can submit their applications through the official centralized portal from 15th May 2026.

Eligibility and Pay Scale

Aspiring candidates must fall within the age bracket of 18 to 30 years as of July 1, 2026. In terms of educational qualification, applicants typically require a Matriculation/SSLC certificate plus an ITI from recognized institutions (NCVT/SCVT) in specific trades, or a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering. The selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, starting with an initial pay of ₹19,900 per month plus applicable allowances.

Application Process and Important Dates

The online application window opens on May 15, 2026, and will remain active until June 14, 2026. Candidates are strictly advised to ensure their Aadhaar details match their 10th-grade certificates exactly to ensure a smooth verification process. Selection will involve multiple stages, including Computer Based Tests (CBT), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and Document Verification.
