The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways have announced a major recruitment drive for the 2026-27 cycle. The RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 (CEN No. 02/2026) aims to fill a total of 6,565 vacancies across various zones. This recruitment includes positions for Technician Grade I Signal (Pay Level 5) and Technician Grade III (Pay Level 2).

Key Recruitment Highlights

Candidates interested in joining the Indian Railways must meet specific educational criteria. Technician Grade I Signal requires a B.Sc. or an Engineering Degree/Diploma, while Technician Grade III requires 10th/Matriculation along with an ITI certificate or Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade. The application process is entirely online, beginning on June 30, 2026, and concluding on July 29, 2026.

Selection Methodology

The selection process is designed to identify the most qualified technical professionals through a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by mandatory Document Verification and Medical Examination. Unlike other RRB exams, there is no Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for these technician roles. The exam will consist of 100 objective questions covering General Awareness, Mathematics, and Technical subjects, with a negative marking of 1/3rd for incorrect responses.
