The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill a substantial 12,256 vacancies across various prestigious departments and ministries of the Government of India. The SSC CGL is one of the most sought-after examinations for graduates seeking Group B and Group C positions.

Key Recruitment Highlights

Candidates can begin their application process from May 21, 2026, through the new official portal ssc.gov.in. This year, the commission has introduced a live photo capture requirement, replacing the traditional photo upload method. Applicants must ensure they have a stable webcam or use the official SSC app for registration. The selection process primarily involves two Tiers of computer-based examinations.

Eligibility and Important Criteria

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is mandatory. Specific posts like Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) require specialized subjects at the 10+2 or degree level.
• Age Limit: Generally ranges between 18 to 32 years, depending on the specific post, as of August 1, 2026.
• Application Fee: General, OBC, and EWS candidates must pay ₹100, while SC, ST, PH, and all female candidates are exempted from the fee.
