The Indian Navy has officially released the notification for the recruitment of Agniveer (Apprentice) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches under the prestigious Agnipath Scheme. This recruitment drive is specifically aimed at unmarried Indian male candidates who hold a three-year Diploma in Engineering or Electrical streams. The selection process is designed to identify technically proficient individuals ready to serve the nation in a challenging naval environment.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official Indian Navy portal starting from 05 June 2026. The closing date for online registration is 29 June 2026. Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks in both their Class 10th (Matriculation) and their respective Diploma courses from an AICTE-recognised institute. The recruitment offers a competitive salary package starting at ₹30,000 in the first year, reaching up to ₹40,000 by the fourth year, along with a significant Seva Nidhi corpus of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs upon completion of the four-year tenure.

The comprehensive selection procedure involves multiple stages, including the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a written examination for trade-specific knowledge, and medical evaluations.
