The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially concluded the recruitment cycle for the Civil Services (IAS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2025. Following the intensive selection process consisting of Preliminary exams, Mains, and Personality Tests, the commission has released the IFS Final Result along with the marks of recommended candidates. UPSC 2025 Recruitment Overview

Candidates who appeared for the IFS Mains examination can now access their final selection status. The marks for the IAS recruitment were released on March 10, 2026, while the final results for the Forest Service were published on May 8, 2026. This announcement brings an end to the competitive cycle that began with the notification on January 22, 2025.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • IAS: Required a Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.
  • IFS: Required a Bachelor's degree with at least one subject among Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, or Agriculture.

The selection process involved a Preliminary screening (Objective), followed by a descriptive Mains examination for qualified candidates, and a final Interview/Personality test. Successful candidates will now proceed with service allocation and training protocols as per the UPSC guidelines.
