NTA UGC NET December Result 2026: Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the UGC NET December 2025 Examination on 4th February 2026. Candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility Test across various centers between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026, can now access their performance reports online. This examination is a critical gateway for Indian nationals to determine their eligibility for 'Assistant Professor' as well as 'Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)' in Indian universities and colleges.

Eligibility and Examination Summary

The UGC NET exam covers 85 subjects, ranging from Humanities and Social Sciences to Forensic Science and Environmental Sciences. To qualify, candidates generally require a Master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). The selection process is strictly based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers. The scorecard released today includes the marks obtained in both Paper I and Paper II, the percentile score, and the qualifying status for JRF or Assistant Professor roles.
